With the fallout from his loss still far from settled, a custody hearing is scheduled in LA today to determine who should take over the care of Michael Jackson’s three children. And so far, his sister is well in the lead. Michael’s most recent will, written in 2002, named Katherine as the children’s guardian but Janet – who accompanied the children to their family home to retrieve their belongings after the singer’s death last month – has the support of her siblings in taking over as primary carer.

Michael Jackson’s executors are in talks with Sony Corp. to determine the ownership of about 100 unreleased songs and how they can be marketed. The tracks are leftovers from the studio albums Jackson recorded for Sony. Rob Wiesenthal, chief financial officer of Sony's U.S. operations, says that most of the songs are owned by Michael Jackson's estate or by Sony.
